Audi making its stamp on "American Lexicon"

Audi_Logo.jpg

American Lexicon, eh? Is that like a new reality TV show or something? :)

The statement in the title is what Audi's man-in-charge Scott Keogh stated, referring to the proverbial "hat" that Audi is throwing into the Super Bowl ad ring. Normally, you can almost always expect something classy from General Motors or Toyota, but this year's crop of auto advertisements are a bit more diverse. Freep.com reports that Audi, Hyundai, and even cars.com is getting in on the act.

Audi's commercial is actually pinpointed right at American Pop Culture, using an actor from "The Godfather" in a bit. This is a smart and savvy move by Audi marketers, just like what Keogh stated--if you are going to grab the attention of those who usually turn their head for car commercials after they've seen the next latest and greatest Budweiser ad, you've got to do it with the same panache.

But the real question will be if Cadillac can steal the "auto" show, so to speak. It is sponsoring the game's MVP award and will have an Escalade on the field, so nothing like having an image like that burned into your mind--at least that's what Cadillac is hoping for.
