Busch makes NASCAR history at the Glen

Kyle Busch has had some kind of season. He has now won 16 races in NASCAR’s top three series this season—eight in Sprint Cup, six in Nationwide and two in trucks. With his win in the Centurion Boats at the Glen at Watkins Glen International Sunday, he completed a trifecta on road courses that includes the Nationwide race in Mexico in April and the Cup race at Sonoma in June. No NASCAR driver has ever won on three road races in a single season.

With the win, he got 80 bonus points for the Nextel Cup Chase, which means 50 more points than second place Carl Edwards with four races remaining before the postseason. (Drivers get 10 bonus points for a victory.)

I actually though that Dale Earnhardt Jr. was going to take the race after his start where he looked very strong, but apparently the strategy that he and his pit crew had did him in, with a disappointing 22nd place finish--despite leading 33 laps. Junior can't be happy about that...but that doesn't take anything away from Busch, who looks like every race that he has a legitimate shot to win (which he has been doing--4 out of the last 7!).
