Obama's Energy Policy? Please

obama_tire_pressure.jpg

Are we done yet? Can we stop this furor over Barack Obama's comments about tire gauges? For those of you who may not be in the know and basically have been under a rock, Obama made commentary that "if Americans simply kept their tires inflated to the standard specs, the country could conserve as much oil as is expected to be pumped out of the ocean with the additional offshore drilling favored by his rival, presumptive Republican nominee John McCain."

The blogosphere has gone nuts with this, and McCain's campaign has already mocked it physically with the gauges that you see in the picture, with "Obama's Energy Policy" on it. Obviously, this has meant that Republicans are of course blasting the idea that Obama is all talk with no "suit", and Democrats are of course making it that Republicans are ready to drill anywhere in the world, etc.

It's dumb. This stuff is just one more thing why I can't stand a lot of the mudslinging with politics. I am absolutely sure that Obama is not thinking this way as an absolute....but I guess it is what it is, but when do people start using common sense about things. I mean, not that I really am happy he said that, but how can Republicans say ANYTHING with some of the things that "W" has said in eight years in office? The man is MADE fun of for the things he says....likewise, Obama supporters, why are you running with allegations like this in defense--just pony up that he said something not very "smart" overall....regardless of the justification.

AND LET IT GO...Good grief.....
