Russian market heating up

bilde.jpg

If you put a gun to an automotive expert and screamed at the top of your lungs for them to tell you what the hottest market in the world was right now, well..first of all I'd ask you why you were pointing a gun at someone's head for such a trivial question, but I digress...the answer you would get would probably be surprising. Most people would think that China is far and away the leader, but that's not necessarily the case.

St. Petersburg, Russia, has become a literal hotbed for automotive car makers and the Russian community has really been eating up all of the new possibilities for cars there. Sure, China has its billions of people chomping at the bit, but for the production costs and profit alone, both Toyota and Lexus are seeing nothing but green behind the steel curtain. With Hyundai, Nissan, and Ford the next ones to either plant their trees there or expand like Ford is doing, there's a definite feel that this is the new Detroit...without all the murders...oh wait, scratch that...maybe it is the new Detroit after all :))))

With the global economy sagging, it is Toyota yet again getting another leg up on the Big three, and while there are distinct opportunities still available in the vast landscape that Russia offers, this "hot" ticket won't be going anywhere soon.
